Catalog sheet |
ORION professionals are dedicated to the design and production of insulating products that perform. Our Electrical, Thermal and Acoustical insulating solutions are based on extensive experience, innovative research and a thorough knowledge of materials. If you have an insulating application, ORION will provide you with the highest quality, most cost effective solution.
We are specialists in selecting the correct
material for you application.
Typical design considerations will be:
Materials commonly selected:
Polypropylene, Polyester,
Polyimide, Polycarbonate, PVC, Polyamide and PBTP.
ORION is listed with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) as a participant in their recognized Component Program for fabricated parts, A1585, based on material traceability.
ORION produces a wide range of temperature insulating products custom designed to protect electrical, plastic and other sensitive components in the most critical environments.
Our insulating solutions are made from a variety of materials including custom designed laminates which reduce heat transfer from radiation, conduction and convection. Other materials commonly used include solid silicone, cellular (sponge) silicone, and closed cell rubber products; particularly epichlorohydrin (ECH), high temperature polyamide and polyimide films. Our thermal insulating products can be found in applications as diverse as medical instruments, industrial process controls and home security systems.
Noise from electronic equipment, computers, printers and other types of machinery can be significantly reduced by surrounding the noise source with the proper material. Our customers come to us to help them satisfy their customers' demands for quieter products.
Working with your design engineers from the early stages of design helps ORION engineers to maximize results and minimize cost. However, we can custom design insulating materials which can be added to existing equipment to absorb, dampen or dissipate sound.
Materials commonly used include:
Acousitical Foam (plain,
embossed and laminated), Visco/elastic dampening materials, and
composite materials to provide a barrier and absorption.
